| I have two different certificates from this company. Both were punched with the corporate seal. The type 1 stock shows a miner swinging a pickax in a tunnel. The type 2 stock shows a wood frame built over a shaft and miners raising an ore bucket with a pulley and rope. There is still a stub remnant affixed to the left side of both stocks. | According to my research, this silver mining operation was located in Grant County, New Mexico, in the Silver Flat Mining District. The property was on the Legal Tender Ledge, near Silver City. The ore was transported by ox teams. |

| Territorial certificates from New Mexico are always tough to find. This stock was issued on February 9th, 1889 for 100 shares worth $10 each. The corporate seal is punched into the lower-left. (Stock# 187) Highly-detailed vignette shows an early mining camp. Log miners cabins can be seen at the base of a mountain. You can also see a narrow wagon trail and rail line (likely used to haul ore to the smelter or mill). I didn't notice this right away...but if you look closely at the corners of the certificate you will see that butterflies (or moths) were incorporated into the border. UNCANCELLED |
