The Travel Bug

I can't help it. It's compulsive, I can't control it.
My name is Steff and I'm a travel-aholic.

Ok, now you all know my problem, you know I will do anything for a fix!
I first went overseas at the age of 6 months. Of course I have absolutely no recollection of the experience and it was years before I went on a plane again. My next jaunt was Fiji, a family holiday when I was twelve. The memories are still pretty clear - as clear as the water I spent most of my days in, chasing fish and snorkelling over some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world.
Sorry, I'm off the topic...
The most critical trip, the one that has helped make me the person I am today was when I headed to Sweden as an exchange student the year after I finished school.

I found myself in Ostergotland. Apparently in the fifth largest town in Sweden but compared with Sydney, it seemed tiny. I spent twelve months there and made fantastic friends, and was lucky enough to travel all over Europe and within Sweden too.
Being exposed to different cultures, languages, and history made me realise how lucky I was and how sheltered I had been and most importantly, how much more of the world there was for me to explore!

So, in September'00 I began another adventure....stretching beyond the land Down Under and taking advantage of how young and stupid I was. First stop - the UK and after a month there, Africa. An overland tour and a few months based in Cape Town with my best friend.
One of the advantages of having been an exchange student and knowing exchange students, many of them come from exotic and wonderful places, is that there is often a place to crash where you need one.
Well, I wil be adding to these pages and at some point, expect to see more info on Sweden but til then...

BON VOYAGE to those who might be undertaking a trip.
Otherwise, I say get off your arse and travel!

Here are some sites I found helpful when planning my trip and some that might help you.
