The Ayurvedic Studies Program at Starseed was established in September 2003, and is intended to prepare practitioners of the ancient art and science of Ayurveda though a program of high quality, comprehensive education and training consonant with such standards as will in the near future be set by state and national credentialing authorities and professional associations outside of Ayurveda's homeland, India..
It is the program's aim to prepare Ayurvedic practitioners as well as to provide quality continuing education in Ayurveda to the medical, nursing and allied health professions and to serve as a source of health information and outreach to the larger community.
With a view to extending the opportunity for Ayurvedic professional training to a wider body of students, in January 2006 the Institute undertook the translation of its residential training program to an independent study, distance-learning based format, thus affording a flexible, economical training in Ayurveda that is of the highest quality obtainable.
