Desert Survival - Page 2 - On Wheels

Truck off of Fogline
If you become stranded in your vehicle make sure that you situate your rig a very safe distance to the right of the fog line (the white line that is on your right on the highway).
Lift your hood so people know you are stranded.  Stay safely off the highway.  If you can assess your problem, do it.  Check your gauges and look for a leak under your, unfortunately, less than dependable rig.  If you can fix the problem, do it.  It might be minor and you may have the ability.  If not, use your cell phone if you have one, or wait for help.  It may come sooner than you think.
David in Idaho
When I was a State Trooper in Idaho, I made sure I covered my patrol area, and everyone stopped on the highway was checked to see if they needed help.
