How Is Christopher Thomas Coming Along?

Russian Adoption Experience

Christopher has been doing wonderfully. We have had problems with rashes but see the doctor regularly (he needs to get caught up on his shots). We went to Wildwood, NJ on vacation and enjoyed watching Christopher and the kids enjoy the pool and the rides. They have become attached very quickly. It's great to see Christopher's face light up when one of the other kids come in the room.

We made an appointment with a neurologist to have Christopher checked (because of the doctors report from Russia). Besides being about 5 months behind in development he seems to be doing fine. In order to be sure the doctor has requested CAT Scans which we are taking him to the hospital for on Friday, 8/30/96.

September 4, 1996 GREAT NEWS!!! Received a call from the neurologist, Christophers CAT Scan came back normal! Nothing to worry about. Developmentally he has picked up alot of things over the past few weeks; sooo big, he waves bye-bye, gives kisses, and tries to stand on his own (I think he'll be walking soon). We couldn't ask for better progress.

October 6, 1996 - Christopher is learning every day. He is taking more and more steps each day and is an absolute gem of a child. He has an amazing personality that everyone falls in love with. He loves to give hugs (especially to other babies).

October 24, 1996 - Christopher continues to surprise us. He has such unique personality, he is always making people laugh. He is walking everywhere and soooo proud of himself. We are so lucky to have found each other.

Christopher dressed as a ghost for HalloweenNovember 1, 1996 - Christopher had another appointment with the neurologist. He is developing wonderfully. He is now walking and running all over the place. He is so much fun and a real comedian. He experienced his first Halloween and had a ball. He rode around in a wagon dressed as a ghost and loved getting candy and the attention. He experienced his first lollipop (what a mess) but he loved it.

December 1, 1996 - Christopher was overwhelmed with his first Thanksgiving. We went to Grandma and Grandapa DeFazios on Thanksgiving Day. There were so many people Chris was a little taken aback. Great Grandma and Grandpa (AKA GG Grandma and GG Grandapa) were there, Aunt Francine and Uncle Joey, and other aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris loved the quiche and the sweet yams. The following day we drove to Grandma and Grandpa Jengo's house for another Thanksgiving celebration (we do have alot to be thankful for you know). Ate more and played with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins; Julian, Adrianne, Brianne, Taylor, and of course Guy and Jennifer. Also had alot of fun playing with Aunt Donna and Uncle Frank's dog, Scruffy. Chris would walk right up to Scruffy's face and start his version of a dog bark. Sort of like wooo wooo. Well it's close.

Stay Tooned... Our first Christmas with Christopher is right around the corner.

On December 15th we went to Aunt Dottie and Uncle Larry's house for our annual "Jengo Get-Together". Chris adjusted wonderfully and loved running around. They got gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Jengo that day (because they were leaving for Florida the following week). Jennifer was thrilled to get American Girl pajamas for her and her doll, Samantha, and the Samantha crafts. (American Girl stuff is where it's at). Guy Michael got a sleeping bag and Christopher got a tag-along-wagon for his snuggle bug car. ( I think we're going to need a bigger house soon). December 23, 1996 - We took Christopher to see Santa at a mall. He was scared and cried. Then Jennifer told Santa that Christopher was adopted from Russia. At that point Santa surprised us all. He began speaking to Christopher in Russian. What an exciting moment. Even Jennifer was convinced that he was the real Santa. Yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa DeFazio came over and had a great time with their Grandchildren. Good thing Christopher loves to give kisses.

Christmas was a wonderfully, exciting experience for all. The kids woke up and opened all the gifts that Santa brought. Guy-Michael got a remote control boat and plane, Jennifer got the ice skates she wanted and Mall Madness and American Girl "Scenes and Settings for Samantha". Christopher woke up to the Little Tikes tool bench stocked with tools and loves it!

Then off to Grandma and Grandpa DeFazios we went. As usual we had great food and lots of fun. We opened more gifts. Guy-Michael got a Remote Control Car, Jennifer got Ask Zandar and earrings, and Christopher got V Tech electronic learning toys and a gold bracelet that he loves to wear (These were just the highlights there is just too much to mention) Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.

December 29th we went to Discovery Zone. This is a place made especially for kids. Everyone had a ball. Christopher did lots of climbing and sliding.
