Welcome!  My name is Cristi Bakewell and I am a kindergarten teacher at Curtis Fundmental Elementary.  I am a native Floridian and graduate of Tyrone Elementary School, Tyrone Middle School and Boca Ciega High School.  I received my BA from the University of South Florida in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 1988.  In 2002 I received my Masters degree in Literacy and Curriculum also at USF. And just last December I became a Nationally Board Certified Teacher.

My teaching career began at Cross Bayou Elementary, where I taught first grade for two years before moving to Ridgecrest, where I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for 16 years. This is my 23rd year at Curtis Fundamental -- Yay Curtis Cougars!

    When not teaching, I love watching the Bucs, and the USF Bulls play football, as well as cheering on the Devil Rays and Atlanta Braves during baseball season. I also enjoy cooking, scrapbooking, and traveling, spending many summers in England and Switzerland with my family.
