September

Monthly Happenings
We begin cooking this month. I will take over "chef" duties until my father returns from Olean, NY. In October, he will come once a week and cook with the students (something that usually revolves around our academic studies).
We have been learning about primary and secondary colors, so our first cooking project will be baking a rainbow cake. As we swirl red, yellow, and blue into the batter, the children will create a variety of new colors. Ask your child about this yummy project!

Our first day to check out books is Thursday, September 6th. I can't wait to see what exciting books the children choose!

Homework
Homework is always due on the following school day. Look for the Kindergarten Newsletter (sent home the first day of the school week) to find out about the special Thursday homework. Please sign all assignments.

Special Dates
Monday, September 3...Labor Day. Schools are closed.
Wednesday, September 12… School Picture Day at Curtis. Bring your BEST smile! This is also a shortened school day. Please be ready to pick your child up at 12 noon.

Reminders
If your child’s way home is to change, I must be notified in writing or the front office must be phoned.
