My main reason for developing this website was not only to show off my Collies...........but to also make people aware of the fact that you can get the nicest dogs from Rescue. These dogs end up at Rescue usually thru no fault of their own. All they need is another chance at a "Forever Home". I am so glad that I was able to provide both Lassie and Lady with a new home. I love them both dearly. While they both have totally opposite personalities, Lady being quiet and ladylike...thus her name, and Lassie, all boisterous and animated, they both have that wonderful Collie personality that I love. If you are looking for a dog that is good with children, you can't go wrong with a Collie. If they are socialized properly with children when they are puppies themselves, a bond will grow between the two of them that is strong and permanant. When I was a little girl I had a beautiful sable and white female, whom by the way, found me one day while I was out playing in the park. She followed me home, and tho we tried to find her owner, she was never claimed, and so we kept her. I named her Lady, and she became my constant companion. I will never forget her. In fact my Lady today looks very much like my "Lady" from my youth. |
