The Legend of the Stupa, a parable related by the Guru to Trisong Detsen and his court, as a means of teaching. In this parable the Guru reveals the past relations of Trisong with the Guru. The Guru also relates a selective version of His Life Story with emphasis on his journey to Tibet.

5. The Tibetan Book of the Great Liberation
or the Method of Realizing Nirvana Through Knowing the Mind: Proceded by an Epitome of Padma-Sambhava's Biography, According to English Renderings by Sardar
by Sonam Wangfel Laden La, W. Y. Evans-Wentz, Lobzang Mingyur Dorje, Zla-Ba-Bsam-'Grub

Contains:
An epitome of the Guru's Life Story, very much summarised but wide-ranging in its coverage, with particular emphasis on his Pre-Tibet years. The Colophon and background is not well presented and confusing. The lengthy discourse by Jung is totally unnecessary and irrelevant, as it was in The Tibetan Book Of The Dead. A useful introduction to the Guru's Life Story, with explanatory forewords by Wentz to help the newcomer along. After assimilating this the complete original texts are recommended as a more reliable and illuminating source.
