Strider    My Outlander Bio

Doon Douglas Letter of Introduction

Mae govannen! I am one of the mysterious wanderers who roam the woods and the wild whom the Bree-folk call Rangers. The faire I consider "home" is Bristol (being only a few leagues away from our abode), which brings memories of the town of Bree to mind, from a land whence I hail. There I am known by the name Strider. To the Elves I am known as The Dunadan. To the Men of the West I am sometimes known as Aragorn, son of Arathorn

At times I still carry the Sword-that-was-Broken, which has hence been re-forged and made whole again. A friend am I to the Green Man, the Druids and Celts, to the Faeries, and to the woods and the stout Oak tree. I have broken bread in the company of King Oberon, King of the Faeries; and I have made acquaintances with Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves and Half-Elves, Wizards, and various other races of men. (I sincerely enjoy a good feast and drynke, and so do the Vikings - thank Odin - Huzzah!) I hate Orcs and Trolls.

As a break from my routine charges as a ranger, I enjoy going to faires or festivals with the family, the youngest of whom is already being trained in the ways of chivalry. While at faire, I frequent establishments such as The Pig 'n' Whistle, The Aleing Knight Pub, or Angus's Pub for respite and mirth, and maybe a Boddingtons Pub Ale, Bass Ale, or Newcastle Ale. These pubs remind me of The Prancing Pony and The Green Dragon of yore, though the thoughts of Scheherezade's Gypsy Travellers are a far cry from Frodo's antics (huzzah!). And I look forward to each faire season to seek out the best turkey leg yet served.
