White Sausage Gravy w/Biscuits

Ingredients:

Butter, melted and cooled

Directions:

In a medium frying pan, cook the sausage for about 5 min or until the meat is cooked through. Remove the sausage and set aside. Without draining the fat from the pan, add the butter and melt over low heat. Mix in the flour and stir to combine thoroughly. Stir for 3-4 min or until thick. Pour the milk into the pan and increase the heat and bring the milk to a boil, stirring, Reduce the meat to medium and simmer for 20 min, stirring often. Season with salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce to taste.

Serve with Buttermilk biscuits:

Preheat the oven to 350º. Grease a baking sheet.

In a large bowl, mic he flour, baking powder, and sugar. Ina separate bowl, mix the heavy cream, buttermilk, vanilla, and butter. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combines. Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Roll the dough out to ½” thickness. Using a 2” round cookie cutter, cut the dough into 12-14 circles. Place the biscuits on prepared baking sheet. And bake for 15-18 min, or until golden brown.
