Pizza Dough
Ingredients:

2-1/2 Cup Flour 1 Teaspoons Baking Powder 1 Teaspoons Salt 1 Teaspoons Sugar 1/4 Cup Olive Oil 1-4 Tbsp Water 1 Egg |
Directions:
In a
large mixing bowl, place flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and olive oil. Stir
together until mixture is like moist cereal. Add water and egg, mix well. Place
on floured work surface and knead for 5 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10
minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 deg F.
Lightly grease and flour a pizza pan or cookie sheet
with all purpose flour or semolina OR
lightly flour a pizza peel.
Roll our dough and place on prepared pizza pan, bake
for 5-8 minutes, top with favorite toppings and place back in oven to finish
baking (approximately 35 minutes) or until crust is golden brown. Remove and
let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
**Optional filling instructions for a Stuffed Pizza:
1/2 Pound Cooked Bulk Sausage, Mild Or Hot, Cooked
And Drained
1/2 Pound Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 Pound Ricotta
1/2 Cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Drained Of Oil And Julienne
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1 Tsp Oregano
3 Eggs
1 small can drained Mushrooms (optional)
Place all filling ingredients in a large mixing
bowl, and mix well. Preheat oven
Roll out 3/4 of the dough to a 12-14 inch circle and
place on pizza pan or peel, lightly dust with all-purpose flour or semolina
flour. Spread filling in center - to within 3 inches of edge. Roll remaining
dough into a 10 inch thin circle and place over filling. Brush outer edge and
top of center with cool water and fold outer edges inward to meet center piece
and cover the perimeter. Beat 1 egg and brush entire top. Score top with sharp
knife in 5 places.
Place in oven and bake for 40 minutes, or crust is
golden brown. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
