Selling Good Celtic Music You Haven't Heard . . . YET!

There are certain music types other than filk that a lot of filkers enjoy listening to or singing outright. However, most of the Celtic music filkers hear comes from only from a few sources, some of which I carry. But WAIT, I've found new stuff for you to hear!

What I have been doing is finding Celtic artists and bands who are not as well-known as, say, the Tannahill Weavers, and bring them to the filk market. The only exception to this is Capercaillie, whose music I fell in love with when I went to Scotland in 2002 and decided I had to sell. When I travel to the Celtic lands, I look for performers who'd like their music heard over here, bring their music back with me and let you know about them. For instance, at the First Annual North Georgia Celtic Festival, I "discovered" several bands who sound pretty good. Those which do have a CD, I now stock. Those who don't, well, I'm working on that. Give them time.

Right now I have the following artists/albums available:

Heather Alexander Avalon Rising Bad Haggis Banish Misfortune Border Collies
The Bringers Brobdingnagian Bards Broceliande Maggie Carchrie CAPERCAILLIE!
Carreg Lafar Celtic Twilight 1-6 Clandestine Margaret Davis Kathleen Donohoe

Katherine Irwin Thomas

This list, however, will be changing. Some of the performers have not sold well. When I run out of my present supply of these performers, I will no longer be carrying them, and those performers will be deleted from this list.

By the way, those listings above in italics are album titles. However, some of them are the names of the bands. Have to rearrange that!

I've also started contacting bands through the webrings listed below to see if they want their stuff sold by me as well.

What is below is something new. I've just set up a separate e-mail notification group for news on Celtic albums I'm selling. Click on the graphic below and subscribe to "sffilk-celtic."
