I have done research with Dr. Mark Drummond on rocks from Avachinsky Volcano in Kamchatka, Russia. The link will take you to the abstract of the poster we presented. (No, I have never actually been to Kamchatka, but Dr. D. has.)
I have been looking for omomyid primates in Mississippi with Dr. Bruce Wheatley, Karen Harper, and other anthropology students. Karen has more information about this topic on her page, so be sure to check it out.
For my doctoral research, I am looking at the geochemistry and geoarchaeology of Soapstone Ridge in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as some other soapstone units of the southeastern United states. My committee members are Drs. Sam Swanson (advisor), Erv Garrison, Rob Hawman, Alberto Patino-Douce, Mike Roden, and Sandra Wyld. There seems to be a dearth of scientific information on soapstone on the Web, so as my work develops, I am developing a web page about soapstone.
