SIAM
SIAM stands for Self-Injury Awareness Movement. We (Bri and myself, see the Note below) are encouraging current and former self-injurers to wear bracelets to help fight the stigma and shame associated with self-injury. We thought that current self-injurers could wear orange beaded bracelets (very inexpensive, just go to a craft store and get orange beads, and some stretchy string -the type made for bracelets-), and ex self-injurers could wear an orange and white bracelet. It's also to remind yourself of the battle that you face on a daily basis, and that *you are surviving*!
Feel free to take this ribbon and put it up on your site! Just right click and then choose "Save Picture As". Also- if you have a website, feel free to put this information up on your site- the more people that know, the better!!

Note: Bri (webmistress of Bittersweet Crimson Tears) thought this up, I take credit for nothing other than being supporitive & the different bracelet for former SI's idea. :) She wrote a lot of the stuff up there too, I am just not creative enough to think of it for myself.

(Bri wrote all of the following!)
SIAM has really taken off lately. There has been a seperate website set up dedicated to the cause.
Much thanks to Crowlia for setting that up and running it!
Soon there will be a way for you to order bracelets and ribbons (to support those who SI) through the site. For the most up-to-date info, check out the forums at
Psyke. Thanks!
If you cannot see two frames on your screen (a Navigation part and this part), click here to connect them. It will open to a new page, but will show the ENTIRE site.
