| NOTE: Well, this is a new section. I understand that there are probably quite a few visitors to this site who are not Christians, but seeing as how I am one, I decided to make a religious section of the site. I would like it if everyone read this, regardless of if you are a Christian, Jew, atheist, whatever. But read the disclaimer first! DISCLAIMER: I am not trying to shove my religion down your throat, nor am I forcing you to see this section of the site. (Or the site in general, for that matter.) I am truly sorry if I offend you, but I would like to tell others about my faith in God and Jesus... which has helped me through everything more than I can say. |
| First of all, I am a Christian, which, for those of you that don't know, means that I believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, and He died for my sins. (And yours too, for that matter.) Personally, my faith has really helped me through everything, including the SI period of my life. My friends sorta helped, and my boyfriend did help, but mainly it was my faith thats kept me alive. I think I would've killed myself a long time ago if it hadn't been for God. Again, I am not trying to shove my religion down your throat. Mainly this page is going to be inspiring/helpful Bible verses that I've found, with a short commentary on why I like the verse. Or, if you would like to contribute any, email them to me! You can email me the verse itself, or just tell me what verse and I can look it up on myself. Also, PLEASE incluse why you like the verse. I might add my own little commentary, but I would like yours too if you're contributing the verse. You don't have to, but it would be nice. :) NOTE: Currently, I do not have a King James version of the Bible, just a New King James version. (For those of you that don't know what that means, I can't explain it very well except to say that in the NKJV, the words are more modern. Some people prefer a KJV, others don't care. I'm sorta in between the two- I like the KJV, but the NJKV is easier for me to understand.) EMAIL ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK ABOUT RELIGION, OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. I'M NOT AN EXPERT, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HELP IF I CAN!!! BIBLE VERSES If you think that I am misinterpreting any of these verses, email me right away and tell me! I apologize for any mistakes I make, but I am not perfect and do not always understand things. Sorry!!! "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." -2 Corinthians 5:17 I like this verse (which I just found today, June 16th) because it reminds me that, as a Christian, my past is forgotten by God- meaning He doesn't hold it against me anymore, since I've asked to be forgiven. Which is a pretty good deal: now I've only got to stop holding it against myself. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is it's own trouble." -Matthew 6:34 Well, we all need to learn to remember THIS verse, don't we? Mainly me... lol "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." -Matthew 7:7 I like this verse so much because it reminds me that all I have to do is ask God something (aka pray about it), and He'll help me. And boy, do I ever need help sometimes... "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28 This one's sorta self-explanatory... :) "For with God nothing is impossible." -Luke 1:37 I sorta drifted away from God for awhile when I was cutting, which was a shame. Too bad I never remembered this verse... maybe then I would've realized that even I had hope. I hope this one especially helps someone.... "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 This is a pretty commonly known verse, and one of my favorites. God gave His ONLY Son to us, simply so that we wouldn't have to be apart from God for eternity... I'd say that He loves us a lot, wouldn't you? "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." -John 15:18-19 This one means a lot to me, because it reminds me personally (although others may have other views) that even if the world hates me, I'm not alone, because it hated Jesus too, and He still loves me. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." -Proverbs 3:5-6 I made myself memorize this one... it's always good to know that Someone's there to direct me, if I can remember to TRUST Him. :) "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." -Philippians 4:13 OK, this one's self-explanatory too. :) It's true!!! "then I saw all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. For though a man labors to discover it, yet he will not find it; moreover, though a wise man attempts to know it, he will not be able to find it." -Ecclesiastes 8:17 I may be misundering this verse, but... the way I am reading it, we can't know everything, & we certainly can't know God's plans for everything. :) So no worrying, cuz He's in charge! (thanks to Liz for this!!) "Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgement. Therefore, remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity." -Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 Personally, I REALLY like the 'remove sorrow from your heart" part. Remembering it is another thing. :) (Thanks for Liz for this!!) |
