Sententia Liber presents the vedic astrology birth chart of actor

Russell Crowe

This is how I arrived at Scorpio Ascendant for Russell Crowes' birth chart: In vedic/hindu astrology there are only 12 possible charts for each day because it is an equal house system, where each house equals one sign of the zodiac. First I tossed out any chart with the lord of the 6th, 8th, or 12th house in the 1st house (the ascendant). Then I tossed out any chart that had the lord of the ascendant in the 6th, 8th, or 12th houses. This is because the ascendant determines how we are perceived by the general populations and nobody as rich, famous, and beautiful as Russell Crowe could possibly have any connection between the lord of his ascendant and these unfortunate houses.

This left only 3 charts, so then I tossed out any chart with Kuja Dosha, which is a Mars affliction that causes a person to be victimized by their marriage partner. Russell just doesn't come across as a victim in this department. The only chart left is Scorpio Ascendant and the minute I saw it I knew it was the right one. Venus unaspected and nonconjunct in it's own sign in the 7th house gives: a marriage that is blissful and long lasting, the spouse is rich, famous, beautiful, and artistic. The subject is happy, fortunate, has luxuries, comforts, he may be a renowned artist himself, he is beautiful, popular, and possesses an uncompromising love for his spouse.

The name of his moon star is Dhanishta, which is a specially blessed nakshatra conferring spirituality though involved in worldly matters. He is extremely charismatic and strong, people will tolerate a lot from Dhanishta that they wouldn't tolerate from others. He has a strong sex appetite, and (regardless of what others might say) is faithful to his spouse.

In the 5th house there are 2 malefics, either of which causes a rash, hot-temper, and together they give well, er..uh.. Russell's temper. Also this indicates that he is shrewd, intelligent, over-indulgent in pleasure seeking, and dominates others easily. The 5th house is also the house of children so the fact that he has 2 male children sure looks right.

Saturn in the 1st trine of it's own sign in the 4th house clearly indicates plenty of real estate, a powerful career, a good upbringing, he is respected, serious, humble, and extraordinarily spiritual.

A dark waning moon in the 3rd house causes the 3rd house to flourish while the moon is spoiled. The 3rd house rules the dramatic, musical, and literary arts so this gives strong desire, interest and career in drama, singing, music, and writing. The dark moon here does not favor mental peace, the mind becomes unstable and intoxicated with power, also producing a strong desire for women.

In the 6th house there are 2 benefics, Jupiter and Mercury (which becomes benefic when posited with a benefic). These bestow health, intelligence, pride, and good jobs with fine pay. During the 16 year Jupiter dasa that ended in aprox 2003 he was able to easily defeat enemies and competitors.

The lord of the 2nd house which rules speech, in the unfortunate 6th house causes one to use foul language. The lord of the most excellent 9th house in the 3rd house brings many exciting adventures, he succeeds with ease in fulfilling desires. This also gives great talent in the dramatic, musical, and literary arts. The lord of the 10th house in the 5th house bestows a successful career upon himself as well as upon his children.

Rahu confers nothing, it only points the way to fulfilling our purpose in life (dharma) if we wish to undertake any evolutionary growth. Rahu in the 8th house points to the greatest fulfillment through taking care of his home and family and giving up professional overtime. It indicates happiness and success in pursuit of occult, metaphysical, mystical, psychic work. To serve a greater pupose he must achieve a psychological transformation.

Sententia Liber presents the vedic astrology birth chart of singer Danielle Spencer

How I determined Danielle's ascendant was basically the same as for Russell's except that in the final step I tossed the charts that didn't have Kuja Dosha, leaving only one chart with Kuja Dosha. The reason for this is that sexual excitement between any two people is determined by Kuja Dosha or lack of it in their chart. Two people who both have or both don't have Kuja Dosha will have a luke-warm sex life that completely lacks the intense excitement experienced by the Kuja Dosha/not Kuja Dosha couple.

To make a chart you will need these items first:

Daylight Savings Time (DST) subtract 1 hour from birth time if DST was in effect during the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere, or subtract 1 hour from birth time if DST was in effect during winter months in Southern Hemisphere.

One Note About Longitudes: The Prime Meridian is 0 degrees and is called GMT- Greenwich Mean Time or UTC-Coordinated Universal Time.

Latitudes and Longitudes. Follow the link, enter place of birth in Birth Town field and click the Search button, the Latitude and Longitude are in bold next to the name of the city. Then come back to Astro Jyoti and enter these coordinates in their field boxes. If Longitude is west then uncheck the box next to the word East. If Latitude is north then uncheck the box next to the word South.

Local Mean Time - Each Time Zone is 15 degrees of longitude and represents one hour of time. An atlas will show the lines of longitude. Find the difference between the longitude for birth location and the nearest meridian in degrees. Multiply the difference in degrees by 4 minutes this gives the LMT variation as listed in the atlas. If birth place is west of nearest meridian, subtract LMT var. from local standard time. If birth place is east of nearest meridian, add LMT var. to local standard time. The result is the LMT-Local Mean Time.

Time Zones are the difference between LMT and GMT. For each line of meridian west of Prime Meridian add one hour to LMT to get GMT. For each line of meridian east of Prime Meridian subtract one hour from LMT to get GMT.

Note: Astronomers and astrologers use time zones in completely opposite ways. A Time Zone charts has -5 hours for New York because astronomers subtract 5 hours from GMT to get EST. Astrologers would be adding +5 hours to EST to get GMT.

At Astro Jyoti I simply add or subtract the hours/minutes difference between local standard time and GMT and LMT to the birth data myself and enter zero hours in Time Zone field. I do the same for daylight savings time and leave the box unchecked next to DST. Remember to change the date if time difference takes you to the preceding or following day.

Click on grey button "Click and see results below". The Lagna field gives the Ascendent, The Rasi and the Moon's Degrees field gives Moon Sign, The Janma Nakshatra or your Birth-star field gives the Moon Star. Scroll down to read a brief description for each of these.

Indian Astrology and CyberAstro both have a Free vedic chart. At Cyber Astro you must first register and sign in, then under member services click natal chart.

NOTE: North India Chart: The ASC/Houses stay the same. Numbers indicate signs, Aries=1, Taurus=2, etc.

Tropical Astrology Chart Info:

Astrolabe and Astrology Parlor have a free Tropical chart (at Astrology Parlor use 00 for 12). After it is done you will need to subtract the ayanamsa of 24 degrees from the ascendant and planetary positions to give Sidreal birthchart.

Ayanamsa : (pronounced eye-a-namsha) The celestial longitudal difference between the sidereal placement of stars and its corresponding tropical sign. Due to the Procession of the Equinoxes and the need of modern scientists for a fixed reference guide, the stars associated with a sign are now approx. 24 degrees away from the “sign” listed in the Ephemeris. An astrological chart referred to as a Tropical zodiac may be converted to the Sidereal zodiac by subtracting the ayanamsa from the planets and ascendent. Several different ayanamsas are currently in use, usually between 21 degrees and 25 degrees. It can be very helpful when applying ayanamsa to convert the degrees to minutes using the following chart. (Example: For Leo 10’ 10' add 120’ 00' to get 130’ 10'.) After subtracting the ayanamsa, convert the result back to a sign by using the chart. (Example: 134’ 26' equals Leo 14’ 26'.)

To make your work easier I have made a worksheet and a blank chart page to print out. Here is an Example of the calculation process.

One final note: In his book How to Read Your Horoscope: The Basics of Bona Fide Astrology, Tom Hopke (aka Nalini Kanta das) explains that if something is mentioned in a vedic chart one time it becomes a possibility. If something is mentioned twice it becomes a probability. If something is mentioned three times it becomes a certainty and the astrologer may predict with certainty.
