||A: Well let's forget for a minute about all the little fluffy forest creatures and insects which would be in the forest to hear the sound, and even the other trees which may on some level be aware of the sound, an assume that you have a completely deserted forest (in fact it's probably an actual desert now). This is yet another example of just how useless philosophy can be. Now we must consider what exactly sound it. Most definitions of "sound" have to do with the auditory effect produced and so using those difinitions, sound cannot exist if there is no ear to hear it. However physically sound waves are emitted and they do exist. So in conclusion, our tree in the desert will make sound waves but not sound. Clear?
