The Lure:

    - 188.000 lakes (average size 44 acres, 18 ha), many interconnecting,
    - choice of rivers, placid or whitewater to taste,

    - 800 km of Baltic Sea coastline, often with a deep archipelago,
    - 180.000 islands,
    - "right of common" lets kayakers land and camp on most shores,
    - light arctic summer nights that lets you paddle between sundown and sunrise,
    - more than 200 camping places with showers, saunas and other facilities,
    - english understood almost everywhere.
Seasons

Summer June 1st - August 31st is favoured,
water temperature 12 - 20, air 12 - 26 Celsius. June-July light arctic nights.
Suitable clothing & gear doubles the season:
Ices generally gone by May 1st in Southern Finland, by June 1st in the North, waters freeze around November 1st in the North and December 15th in the South.
Yours truly generally paddles late April - December.
