Turn to 1 Timothy 3. Now, basically the verses have a checkilist of what a church elder and a church deacon first. Now, that is religion. Now, I am not interested in a religion. I seriously think that if we are Christians, we need to be an extended family. Now, I am not contradicting the Bible. Now, the word for leaders is 'εγμαι. And the word for servants is διακονως. The word for servants is the word for deacons. Now, I will say this. You may have seen this in the Gifts section on this website. Basically, everyone must participate with their gifts as a body. You must remember that Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. He came to be an example to all of us. When everyone in the body wants to be served, then we have fighting and pride because it is the same as each person saying that they have the equivalence of God. Now, if there were no somebodies and everyone has the same status, we can all function as a spiritual body part and work together. That is how we serve. Jesus was the primary example of serving. If you want to see this example. Look at the fitst four books of the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). So, if we are Christians, when we serve Christ, we lead by showing his example. We are leaders by serving. Also, we should not be in competition on who serves the best or put the 'best' servant in a pulpit. If we put anyone in a pulpit, it is the person who works among us. There shouldn't be pulpits and pews anyway. We are a family. We act as a body. We lead by functionning by of gifts and by Christ. And we serve by living the Christ-like life. That is servant-leadership. Serving and leadership together. The body together working with Jesus.
