This is a picture of a man making a longbow (an early type of bow) this was done usually by one or two men in the settlement for all the men as it is a skilled job. Some men would personally decorate them with good luck items or tassels to make them different from other bows. |
| The man in this picture is a Fletcher (an individual that makes arrows) as with bow making this is a very skilled trade which now day is almost no longer required. Modern bows use more technically designed arrows that are lighter, faster, and all the same in all dimensions and weight. |

Here is a man using a longbow that the others may have made for him. He may be the apprentice trying it out before selling it on. The longbow may look like a simple tool to use but with no sights to help they can be extreamly difficult to use (not to mention lucky to hit things with). |
