Phase 1 - how I bought the car The car as I bought it in September of 2001. The Scirocco had already seen more than 200,000 km's, but was well cared for. She was almost completely standard, that's the best way to start a project. |

Phase 3- Engine and transmission
transplant After having tried just about everything to get the standard 1800 carb engine to run nicely, I came to the conclusion that the carb was a piece of crap. All of those automatic choke carbs on 1600 & 1800 VW engines suck. So I started looking for a replacement Weber or whatever to get the engine to run properly. My bro then suggested to swap the entire engine for a GTI unit with fuel injection... read all about it right here. |
