A Thiefs Garb

Lots of people wear different costumes. its up to you to look unique. Most people have a good idea of what would look cool, but what you really want is funtionality. Mostly because looking good is usually very uncomfortable. You want to be sure that you will be able to move, run, stretch, and hide in your garb. By following some of these tips you should be able to do well in the field.

Baggy pants, and shirts are the way to go. Movement for a thief is paramount. The more baggy the better.

Layering is also very important. Of course in the summertime, you may wish to not layer so much. Layering allows you to hide small item within the folds of fabric in your shirt. Creative use of a belt is very usefull. i.e. tuck your shirt into your pants, and then belt an outer tunic for a double layer effect. That way, if being searched by a magistrate, one could remove ones belt, and still not let everything fall out thus sealing your fate.

Your cloak is your signiture. If you care about style, this is where you show it off. If you dont care about style, then an average black, or brown cloak will do. The coolest Cloak I ever saw was a shimmery black cloak the fell all the way to the ground, and had white runes embroydered around the edges. Very nice.

Armor

Generally, theives dont wear armor. But sometimes, the occasion calls for it. Of course you can wear any type of armor you want, but if its to heavy, your abilitys will be limited. Your tools will be useless if you cannot use stealth to your advantage.

The armor rules for thieves say that anything below studded/plated leather is usuble by thieves, giving an extra point of armor. Here are some pictures I "procured" off the web to illustrate my points.

This leather jerkin is a good example of versitility with range of movement.

These are excellent examples of a thiefs armor. Light in weight, dark in color, and extreamly durable.

This is perfect thieves armour. It covers the right places, and even offers basic camoflauge.

Storage

Keeping your tools in seperate pouches is a good idea. Simply for organizational purposes. Memorize the order in which you keep every thing, that way when your needing some caltrops, you dont go grabbing some sleeping powder instead. Pouches should be kept tight to your belt and not haning loose. The reason for this is because when your running, your items can bang around and cause a lot of noise. And that's bad.

These are some Draw String pouches that can be very usefull for carrying objects that you do not want anybody to know the shape of.

Square pouches are perfect for thieves. These are hard, molded leather with brass slide buckles. I have several of these. they are light weight and just about everything fits in them.

I prefer belt pouches like these, as to hanging pouches. They dont move, and thier easy to get into.

Of course there are many different options to how your going to carry your goods. These are just some good examples.
