Appearance: Pearly pink baby sea pony with aqua hair.

Accessories: Light blue fishie comb, purple and green frog float, ribbon.

Water Lily was special as my one and only sea pony. Most of the time she hung around in an old yellow Adams Peanut Butter bucket with my other bath toys instead of with the other ponies. I would put her in her little float and then into the tub or hold her underwater and squeeze her sides so that she filled up with water (through the hole just behind one of her ears). If you fill up a baby sea pony with juuuuust enough water, you can get them to float with their heads just above the water without help from their floats.

Another good trick was to put Water Lily's frog float in the water and then take the pony herself (when she wasn't filled with water) and hold her at the bottom of the tub beneath the float--then let go! The air in Water Lily's body would propel her upward, and if the aim was right, she would bump the frog float into the air!

Even though Water Lily usually lived by the tub, I did take her on occassional excursions with the other ponies, when I thought about it . . . I would pretend the tiles on the floor downstair were the river or the ocean and have her "swimming" there.

I really loved Water Lily's pose--she looked like she was craning her neck, trying to spot something in the sky above her. When I started re-collecting, I was surprised that the head-forward pose had such a short neck. In fact, it looks as if they don't have a neck at all! Still cute, but Water Lily's pose is still my favorite! Was it coincidence that the other baby sea pony I craved, Sun Shower, was in the same pose? Hmmmm . . . To be fair, I also wanted Beachcomber quite badly.

As far as I know, Water Lily was lost at the Garage Sale of Doom . . . the one I have in my display cabinet now is certainly a replacement pony. But I have some hope left, since Water Lily might've been overlooked, being with the bath toys and all! (After all, I can't find any of my old bath toys either, and I know we still have some of them!)
