No doubt about it, Peach Blossom is one of the most beautiful ponies ever, especially when she's wearing her silver ribbon! That's probably why I begged and begged my parents to get her for me for Christmas. Again, I was looking at the ponies advertised in the brochure that came with Baby Heart Throb, and I immediately fell in love with Peach Blossom . . . and Honeysuckle. I couldn't decide which one I wanted, so I ended up asking for "either the pink or the blue flutter pony". Now, this same year I really wanted a Fluppy Puppy (offspring of the Fluppy Dogs--remember those?) They were advertised in one of the store "Wish Books". I also had my heart set on either the pink or blue Fluppy Puppies.
Anyway, I was quite disappointed on Christmas day when I opened a present and found they'd gotten me the pink, blue, and white baby Fluppy Puppy instead. But I was overjoyed when I opened the next two presents! My mom had given me both Peach Blossom and Honeysuckle!
They were gorgeous! Elegant! They had beautiful, insect-like wings! Of course, they were immediately lost under a sea of wrapping paper. Miraculously, their wings survived until we had cleaned up. They survived until I went downstairs and accidentally broke the tab off one of their wings--I think it was Peach Blossom's. However, the wing wasn't actually attached to the flutter pony when it broke, so I could put it back in by jamming the base of the wing into the socket. And strangely enough, Peach Blossom wings lasted for years, right up until I sold them (and her) at the Garage Sale of Doom.
Y'see, I kept all my adult ponies in a yellow, plastic, stand-alone medicine cabinet with a little white sliding door, but there wasn't enough room for Peach Blossom and Honeysuckle when their wings were attached, so I would just pull them off and store them in the drawer of a doll's dresser. Usually when I pulled out my ponies to play with them, I would forget to re-wing the flutter ponies . . . and so their wings survived.
As for personality, Peach Blossom was a sensible, hard-working pony . . . and although she got irritable if someone interrupted her work and would grumble if asked for help . . . but then readily provide help inspite of her grumblings. Sometimes I thought Peach Blossom was Honeysuckle's sister . . . other times I didn't think so. Nowadays I just can't picture them being related.
Other interesting facts . . . I never remembered the flutter ponies' Utter Flutter ability from "My Little Pony: the Movie", so my flutter ponies never used that. Also, Peach Blossom's story is my least favorite of all my original ponies . . . I know it's not up yet, but it's this story about how Peach Blossom makes sure all children have sweet dreams by spreading "sweet dream dust" over them. Bleh! Too sappy for me!
