Li Syaoran a.k.a Shaolan, Showron, etc, is the misterious transfer student who came from Hong Kong. He is in the same classroom as Sakura and he is sitting right behind her. His family name was relatives of Clow long time ago (that means he is a direct descendent of Clow Reed). He came to Japan to look for the Clow Cards. He uses a rashinban to find out where the Clow Cards are and uses his sword to catch them. He has magic powers (in fact, all the members of the Li family does) to control the four elements, but the power he uses the most is the thunder. He came to Japan all by himself with the family butler Wei, he later received his cousin (and also his fiancé) Li Meilin *spoilers* but she was forced to go back to Hong Kong so he stayed on his own again. Meilin has a really huge crush on Syaoran-kun, he is really sweet with her because he cares about her because after all, she is his cousin.
At first, he was Sakura's rival in both catching the Clow Cards and being liked by Yukito. At the end, he helped Sakura in catching the cards. He also fell in love with Sakura but was too shy to tell her.
Syaoran is a very gullible boy, you can see him hanging around very often with Takashi, it can be said that he is his best friend, besides, Syaoran believes ANYTHING Takashi says. Syaoran is in a great shape so he does all those gimnastic stuff when he's trying to catch a clow card.
**Important notice**: Many people think Syaoran is gay for his attraction for Yukito, this is definetely not true, he feels attracted to Yuki because of his connection to the moon (with what Yuki really is)
