Nightfall

As the day draws to an end and night falls
I hear the wind gently whisper my name
Simply asking me to once more recall
A person, time or place....a childish game

'Though there is no urgency in its voice
A memory reaching out from my past
My eyelids begin to close without choice
I find it once again eludes my grasp

Phantom, what secrets do you try to tell
Why do you only appear in the night
Shapeless vision casting a silent spell
Shadows playing in the dim fleeting light

I reach out my hand but it is too late
Once again sleepiness has sealed my fate
