Sonnets are a form of lyric poetry consisting of
fourteen lines. Each line contains 10 syllables. Different types of sonnets
have different rhyming patterns. This is written as a Shakespearean
Sonnet.
My Love
My love I long to see you once again
Why have you been gone for so many days
I await your return not knowing when
Not understanding you wandering ways
I have three questions for you my dearest
Oh, can you answer them all truthfully
Is this a way for you to somehow test
If my love for you could become surly
Doubt you my love for all eternity
Or, do you perhaps doubt my faithfulness
Please dwell with me in serenity
For within your arms I seek only bliss
That you stay by my side is all that I ask
Do you find this such a difficult task
