For quite some time now I have wanted to develop a
site that contains my poems of love and acceptance as well as a few
short stories I have written and the watercolors I have recently begun
to paint. I also wanted to include the many different types of poetry that I love. As a society it is important that we love each other and
try to accept each other regardless of our differences. This is very
important to me as a German born Jew. Being Jewish has taught me that
we cannot let history repeat itself. My belief has also taught me to be
kind to people and animals. We must work hard to safe-guard our
environment. I believe we must help those less fortunate and do our best to do at least one good deed a day regardless of how small that deed is.
Some of these poems end sadly....because love
doesn't always work out the way one would wish. Most are for my spouse,
my children, grandchildren and other important people in my life. Some are for my companions....my Boston Terriers and my Birman cat. My companions have taught me the meaning of unconditional love and acceptance.
Although animals are capable of unconditional love and acceptance it is unfortunate that so many people are not. Having a disability has shown me that there are people in this world who for one reason or another are unable to accept the disabled. I am not the only disabled person who has discovered that friends or co-workers may fade away. But, we have a choice. We can be angry and bitter or we can simply accept the fact that this was all the individual had to offer us. I prefer to try and remember the good times we shared. If we allow anger and bitterness into our hearts we are not allowing enough room for love. I am not a saint!!!!!!! When someone has left my life because of my body's limitations I have felt a great deal of emotional pain. But, I refuse to allow this pain to consume me. I prefer to have love in my life. In order to receive love we must be willing to give love....unconditionally.
