DIAMANTE

Diamante is a form of pattern poetry.
The poem is written in the shape of a diamond

Scratches

it's
done again
arms scratched raw
the itching never stops
as bruises begin to show
a few bumps bleed
the only way
to stop
pain

Bleeding

blood
not clotting
dripping so slowly
medication to take now
either a pill or a shot
bleeding must
stop

CHRISTMAS EVE

It's
Xmas Eve
And all is still
Presents tucked under a tree
Silence envelopes the house now
Waiting for the scurrying
Of tiny feet
Rising early
Eagerly
