Things were different when I was young For patriotic songs were proudly
sung We pledged allegiance every day And thanked the L-rd we lived in the
USA There was some seperation of church and state In the Founding Fathers
we placed our fate Then the Viet Nam War came to be No longer proud of our
great country As flags were burned and veterans shunned We watched the
daily news and were stunned Americans didn't go on pillages Killing the
innocent and destroying villages So many years have past We understand and
honor the Nam veterans at last Cases were brought by the ACLU The courts
decided what we could do When we could and could not pray What we could
and could not say Then it happened one early morning Terrorists struck
without warning Watching in horror as planes hit the towers We cried in
disbelief as bodies fell like showers So many dead.....never to be
found Brought us together on common ground Once again our flags are
flown Patriotism is proudly shown We pledge to avenge all our
dead Osama bin Laden has a price on his head Praying once again for G-d's
guidance We gather together in religious observance
