From the book History of Walworth County Wisconsin, by Albert Clayton Beckwith, publ. 1912 - Page 565 SOLMOUS WAKELY was born at New Milford, Connecticut, March 17, 1793; was a farmer and a shoemaker and lawyer; went to Cortland county; married Hannah THOMPSON in 1818; from Erie county, New York, to Lorain county, Ohio, and thence to Whitewater in 1843; member of committee on bill of rights in first constitutional convention; member of county board 1851-5; member of Assembly in 1855 without opposition, in 1857 defeating Willard STEBBINS.
