CYRUS KING PHELPS was born at Darien, New York, July 4, 1818; married September 
26, 1843, Adeline C., daughter of Thorp WILLIAMS and Clarissa PETERS; died 
October 24, 1899.  Mrs. PHELPS was born at Darien, June 28, 1822; died 
September 2, 1879.  Their children were Asa W., Jane J., Jerome D., Arthur H.  
Mr. PHELPS was a careful breeder of fine sheep and cattle, a thorough farmer, 
and in some fair sense a model citizen and neighbor.
