I am 32 years old. I am married and have two small children. Katie is five and Patrick is three. When I was pregnant with Patrick around the third trimester, I started to experience heart palps. My OB said it was normal and I delivered Patrick without complications. Six months later, I experience these palps again. I went to Primary MD and was diagnosed with PPCM with EF at 35%. I also find out at that time that I was pregnant again. I was sent to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia to see a specialist. My EF had dropped to 15%. I had felt ok, just kept having palps. I was advised to terminate third pregnancy to prevent further deterioation of the heart, which I did. The palps continued. Turns out that I was having runs of SVT, and needed to have an ablation. I am an RN. Currently, my EF is still 15%, but my heart size has shrunk down to normal size. I am able t! o work, take care of my kids , exercise, and I guess do everything that a normal person can do. "What is normal though? I don't get SVT anymore, but I do get skipped beats (PVC's), and my heart pounds a lot (mostly at rest) I am ok when I am moving around. I guess I don't feel it that much. I am on Zestril and Coreg. I see the MD every four months. Hope all is well with you.
