Hi, I was diagnosed in Sept. of '98 at that time I was 31. It was 3 days after delivery that I started having symptoms of chf. I went to a local Urgent care where they did an xray and showed my heart was very enlarged. They got in contact with a very good cardioligist and I was told to start lasix, and ace inhibitor. I had my app with that Dr. one week later. Luckily my Mom went with me to that app as you all know that is devistating when your given the news of PPCM. It was very hard for me to stop breastfeeding but knew I had too to start on certain meds. At that time my ef was 18%.

After very slow progress, I completely recovered 2 1/2yrs later. My ef now is around 53%. I'm a firm believer in Faith in my savior Jesus Christ and the power of prayer. I'm also a strong believer in coreg the beta-blocker. I know its so easy to lose contact with the ppcm community after recovery, but I hope you don't! It's soo nice to share our stories with others and give hope and support! I am currently off all meds!! Which is very exciting. Oh.. I also want to add that our type of DCM is the best for recovery. So don't ever lose hope. I have a teenage son and a 3 yr old daughter.

Be grateful for everyday God has given us! My email is bhanson@mstar2.net.
