A gift of love

He spoke with me in rhyme and words
So often late at night
And some times he would wonder why
I did not try to write

My tongue was tied, I was too shy
My heart was filled with awe
How to describe and talk about
The wonders that I saw

The rising sun, the morning dew
The snow upon the trees
The rainy night, the thundercloud,
The sweetest summer breeze

His face among god's truest gifts
A joy, almost divine
To understand and to express
The wonder that is mine

When his body left this earth
His muse with me resides
For with my heart and soul I know
The best of him abides

I feel the pain and see his strength
Find comfort in his love
And yes sometimes it hurts to know
It's only from above

From the moment our souls touched
He occupied my mind
And now I know he is still there
Though I am left behind

He once called me a guiding star
I was his shining light
His spirit walks with me each day
My guardian at night

I listen to the whispered words
My muse he does impart
And with his soul and spirit there
His love does heal my heart

Reach

I reached inside
A loving heart
And felt the stir
Of passion start

I reached for you
A trusted soul
And knew I was
Forever whole

I reached my words
To share a night
And found in you
A guiding light

I reached a night
To feel the awe
The wonderment
Of all I saw

And with the wonder
I have found
Your soul and heart
Are all around

I reached for you
But lost in pain
You would not feel me
Reach again

You reach for me
With special love
And shine on me
Now from above

And each new day
I do beseech
Your love and mine
Will ever reach

Chase

Child of your child
No child of ours
Yet I still wonder
And watch the stars

Does he see in them
Your soul divine
Guardian his
Till the end of time

Can he feel the presence
Of your love
Shining down on him
From above

Does he see the sunshine
Of your smiles
Reaching to him
Across the miles

For he is your sunshine
Son of your son
Grace of your grace
As each day's begun

The Little Things

The little things
That mean a lot
The grace you show
In a tough spot

The kindest word
On one bestow
Smile upon your face
to show

Loving laughter
Sweetest sounds
Breathless moments
When you're around

Laughter and love
Kindness and grace
Passion and comfort
In your embrace

Looking back
Past angel wings
They are no longer
Little things

Dancing in the Star Light

Dancing in the star light
With sweet memory
Knowing you are always
Dancing here with me

Dancing in the moon beams
Underneath the sky
And I hear the echo
Of your loving sigh

Dancing in dawn light
Dancing in the dew
Kisses to the new day
That I dance with you

Angel that I sashay with
Hold me from above
Let your spirit dance with me
With eternal love

Tender Offerings

Looking at the upturned face
Held so deep in your embrace
Just the breathless inner sighs
See forever in our eyes

Tender is a loving heart
And we knew right from the start
Our souls walked with synergy
More than two we'll always be

Supplicant on bended knee
Is that you that's there or me
Spirits ever intertwined
Loving through the mists of time

My face upturned to you in awe
Touch with love all that I saw
Some day we will touch once more
When we walk that distant shore
