Reach out

Tonight my love
When I think of you
I feel you with me
But the sadness grew

To see the face
That lights my day
Hard to believe
You've gone away

To reach out and find
Your waiting hand
Though I reached out
Across the land

Now I must find
A way to see
How you can be dead
And be with me

For if you are
Completely gone
I know I can't
Go on alone

So I reach out my hand,
My heart and soul
Your hand in mine
It makes me whole

When I get very quiet
Soft words whisper in my ear
Words of warmth and joyful laughter
From a voice I long to hear

Words that sometimes form a poem
Sometimes make the darkness light
Maybe bring some ease and comfort
To a long and lonely night

For I know that you stand by me
Guide me to the journey's end
And there is no place I would be
Except with you, my special friend

If we live on in our influence
Then my love you'll never die
Till at last my time is over
And beside you I will lie

For each day and in every hour
Your ways, I know, they guide me on
And when I confront a challenge
It's your thoughts I lean upon

When the world it closes in
It's your strength that holds it back
With your spirit here to guide me
There is nothing else I lack

Music

I can feel the Hymnal music
I can feel their words inside
Amazing Grace, Sweet Chariot
and so many more besides

Songs of soothing, Songs of toil
Songs of death and songs of dance
Yet the words all run together
And my eyes tear at the glance

The words and music speak to me
And I feel the comfort tone
Adn along with words of friends
Let me know I'm not alone

For I'm missing my sweet Stephen
Teasing voice and special smile
Wish that I could hear him
See him, feel him for a while

Swing low

I'm feeling low and missing you
Now and then the tears slip through

I cry at times for all your pain
I cry because I'm alone again

I have to come back to the love we share
Knowing how much we really cared

Knowing that no matter where you've gone
You'd never let me be all alone

Gazing upon your smiling face
Thinking about your warm embrace

Hearing your teasing voice once more
Knowing you are the man I adore

Remembering our long talks in the night
See the world with your shining light

The light has grown dim, the man is not there
And somedays I struggle to just breathe the air

But I know your soul will always stay close
To the people here Stephen who loved you the most

Love and Fear

I'm thinking of our talks tonight, love
The ones where you said that you cared
The ones where you truly would open up
And would walk all those places we shared

Your fear of those sweet tender spaces
Of loving and needing too much
And with all the uncertainty in you
You found a way to reach out and touch

You saw how my love set me free inside
And still you held on to the fear
If you let me come too close to your heart
That I would no longer stay near

The pain you could not see an end to
Not wanting to hurt me, I know
You thought the best answer for everyone
Was for you to just let living go

It isn't the answer for me, dear
The loss and the deep grawing pain
I can't see a moment or day, my love
When I will breathe freely again

The only relief I can find now
Is to know that I am not alone
Others have walked before on this path
In pain for a loved one who's gone

The way I find ease from the pain love
Is in feeling your soul in my heart
And knowing our love is really so strong
We never are truly apart

So I may need to walk alone here on earth
Though some days I can just barely see
But the truth Is, I'm never really alone
For your love and your soul stand by me

Autumn

I see the trees changes color
A cool breeze is in the air
The beauty of the moment
escapes cause you're not there

Instead I see the sleeping trees
The cold and dying ground
and wonder how do I go on
When you are not around

Then the sun shines through the trees
With leaves gold , green and red
And your voice it whispes on the breeze
"I'm with you though I'm dead'

"Never forget the loving care
I felt for you each day"
I have to hold those words so close
Because you've gone away

Sometimes we didn't show it
Sometimes we didn't speak
But even though lips were still
The heart was never weak

So even though this time of year
Shows winter chill is near
I see the hope in bright sun rays
for you are also here

Your gentle spirit in the air
That blows upon the trees
An imp with a special silly smile
That plays among the leaves

Lost without you

Yours are the arms that hold me
Whenever things go wrong
You're stand right beside me
And helping me to be strong

The only way I follow rainbows
Is with you by my side
The joy and laughter in me
They had no place to hide

But i'm finding it hard
To find the magic today
And my wings are quiet
since you went away

I know you were hurting
I know now you're free
I wish that you could have
Stayed longer with me

So we could both dream
and play in the sun
But you're there and I'm here
The lost lonely one

We Walk Together

From the moment that we met
Our souls began to speak
And even when our minds were torn
Our hearts were never weak

We stood behind, stood beside
Each other in our needs
We always walk together
No matter where the path leads

Hand in hand and heart to heart
I listened to youor soul
Knowing you heard mine too
It made my heart so full

And now you're gone
You've left this earth
I know how much
Our time was worth

Even though you've gone away
We still have each other
No matter where the path will lead

Our souls are doing
Different things
MInes on the ground
And your has wings

For I have work
Yet to be done
To do my best
To raise my son

Your time upon
This earth is thru
But my heart still
Belongs to you

When my journey
finds it's end
Then I'll be
With you my friend

When I will walk
Towards the light
Our two souls
They'll reunite

A lifetime

I looked for twenty years to find
The perfect man for me
The one who made me feel his arms
Were the only place to be

The only man I've every tried
To understand his ways
The one with whom I want to spend
All my remaining days

And now my life is so mixed up
And turned upon it's head
The man who made me want to live
Has choosen to be dead

I gave my heart away to him
Completely, with no lack
And now I find I have no way
To try and get it back

When he chose to leave this earth
And make his final "bye"
Did he know that part of me
Like him would also die

I may believe and trust again
Or care about a soul
But no one else will ever make
My half become a whole

So in this new life I must live
Though it was not my plan
I find the truth is rather odd
Still loving a dead man

I need his soul to walk with mine
Together hand in hand
Until at last I finiish up
My life upon this land

Last night

I argued with you late last night
When I was sleeping sound
I wanted so to tell you
That I wanted you around

And even in my sleeping
I knew it was too late
No matter what I say now
You did not choose to wait

You listened to those inner lies
That tore apart your soul
Instead of to the inner love
That would have made it whole

So my love now I must cope
With all the passing days
To do so I will keep you close
In many, many ways

Your smile reaches out to me
On days when I can barely see

It shines your soul upon my face
As I walk this lonely place

I find that in each passing day
With your help I find my way

I hold you close inside my heart
Though now we are so far apart

Together we will always be
And every day you smile on me

I found a soul

I found the smile
That stays with me a while

I found the joy
Of a mischieveous boy

I found the laughter
For forever and after

I found the tears
For the rest of my years

I found the sadness
That lives in this madness

I found the pain
From the struggle and strain

I found my love
Who's in heaven above
