Surrounded by an angel

I'm surrounded by an angel
Sheltered by an angel's wing
And although no-one can see him
His presence is in everything

Every morning I awaken
Greet the day in harmony
Bless the miracle of sunrise
He is standong bedside me

In each task of daily living
And each step within the days
Fingers of his thoughts and words
Tease me in so many ways

Sweet it is, my life is graced with
Angel breath within my soul
Though your body left already
With your presence, I'll walk whole

My Comfort

In the depth of my pain, you are my comfort
In the aching of my tears, you are my peace
As you spirit walks with me
And gives me strength to be
And only in your arms I find release

You left, but still remain, my guardian angel
Your strength, you could not see, gives me steel
I will walk right by your side
For your heart still beats inside
And one thing will never change, the way I feel

So though my tears will flow because I miss you
And anguish it will sometimes fog my sight
I know that with your love
You send down from high above
I will hold you close to me each day and night

My morning

My morning starts slower without you
I don't hear the soft, teasing sound
Your voice every morning as I awoke
The blessing that you were around.

You never quite realized the impact
Your voice how it brightened my day
And each time I waken without it
My first breath, I wish that you'd stayed

But you're gone and your body is ashes
As we all will one day, dust to dust
I rely on you still I know I always will
Our heart and our soul walk in trust

My birthday

As my birthday approaches
And you are not here
I remember each moment
And hold them so dear

The tears they keep falling
And filling my eyes.
I can't hear your voice
Just the sound of my sighs

I find in the quiet
Seeking harmony
If I look for you
Your spirit's with me

Your hand in mine
We walk side by side
Your heart with mine
Still lives on inside

The day fast approaches
My angel I miss
His voice and his hugs
And the feel of his kiss

It's not the same
Now that you're gone
It's not right
Things just go on

Talked to someone
One of your friends
Just brought home
How everything ends

Yes the tears fall
When speaking of you
But I admit
I'm glad when they do

To hear your name spoken
That they miss you so
Each life that you touched
Before you would go

Each time it is spoken
Reminds me once more
How special the angel
I truly adore

A Garden

Fingers in the dirt
Making a garden for you
Butterflies and hummingbirds
Hope it comes true

Hope that it grows
Brings me some peace
A place I can go
To feel small release

So much I can't change
Nothing I can do
To stop your death
From being true

But I can create
Gardens of harmony
Someplace to go
Hold you close to me
