Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king

This was one of his favorite songs and very much how he felt about life. He had so many blessings in his life -- his children, "adopted" kids, a new grandbaby. They were the pride and the joy in his life. And to enjoy the dance of loving the people in his life he felt he had to enduring the pain of disappointment from them or being a disappointment to them. It was a pain he found harder and harder to handle. Stephen, while you are watching over us remember that we love you.
