Savage Garden
Missouri State Fair, Sedalia, MO.
August 17th, 2000 7:30pm

6:00pm: When we got to the fair, we had and hour and a half before the show started. So we decided to walk around and look at all the stuff they had. I wanted to see where we were supposed to get in at for the show, just so we'd know. It wasn't too hard to find, because there was already a very long line of people waiting to get in! We decided to wait a little bit before we got in line, it wasn't like we could pick our own seats. If we could, then I would have been in line already! But our seats were Row 9, seats 15 & 16. These were not in the middle row, we were over to the left side of the stage. But they were still pretty good seats. :)

When we came back to the line, they had started letting people in, and there was about 45 minutes before the show started. So we went in. Ok, lets get on to the beginning of the concert. :) Well their opening act was another Australian group called Sister To Sister. I thought they were pretty good, and I think that I would buy their CD. So they were out there for an hour. Then after that, we had an intermission before Savage Garden came on. And that seemed to last forever! When they finally went on, it was about 8:45pm. They came out with the song "The Best Thing." Darren was so cute, especially when he danced!! :) I can't really remember the order of the songs, I was so into the concert, I just forgot the order! But I remember what songs were played. The did "Hold Me," "Affrimation," "I Knew I Loved You," "Crash and Burn," "Chained To You," "The Lover After Me," "You Can Still Be Free," "I Don't Know You Anymore," "The Animal Song," "To The Moon and Back," "Truly Madly Deeply,"(which he dedicated this song to all of us in the audience!), "Break Me Shake Me," "I Want You," and I think that's it. Then during the show, a girl in the front row gave Darren a rose, and he got her up on stage! She had a camera, so Darren took a picture of her standing by Daniel, then he took one of her, Daniel, and himself. I thought that was really a great thing to do! I would have been so happy, I think she was crying a little bit. It was really sweet of him to do that.

Then after a few songs, they all left the stage, leaving us clapping and screaming. It seemed like it was the end of the concert, but it wasn't. After a bit, they came back out and did the song "Chained to You," but Darren was wearing a white jacket and pants, with sunglasses (he was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and black pants before). And his two back-up singers were dancing with him. They were wearing white jackets as well. Then, I can't remember what song it was, but Darren beat on the drums a bit with one drumstick and then handed the drumstick to one of the people in the front row.

It was really a great show, and it ended way too soon. I wanted it to go on forever, but of course, it had to end. They were going to play in Chicago, IL the next day. I think that their's was the best concert I've been too, and I can't wait to go to another one! I did take pictures, but unfortunately, they did not turn out well. :( So all I have are some pictures I found off the internet, over to the right. The next concert I go to, I'll hopfully get front row, so I can get some good pics! :)
