There are several types of self-inflicted Violence ways that those of us who are self injurer's use......they are as follows...in no particular order.....
Types of SIV
Cutting
Burning
Biting fingernails excessively
Pulling or plucking hair out...*trichotillomania*
Hitting or Bruising yourself
Excessive Sratching....to produce bleeding or serious damage
Intentionally breaking your bones

People who self injure tend to do so for many reasons...some of those reasons are:

to be in control
To depict emotional states
express wishes, needs, desires
a need to channel, focus or contain or modulate our chaotic inner sensations.
