This page is about my experience of being born with a Cleft Palate and a Unilateral Cleft Lip. I will try to find pages that deal with this topic and present them on this page. Please be patient as I want to present the best information that I can.
I am a 43 year old womyn who was born with a Cleft Palate and Cleft lip. I was born at a Naval AirBase in Tennessee, and when I was born, my mother chose to not have any contact with me for the first 3 days of my life as a result of my being born with these facial deformities.
My first surgery was at age 6 weeks old and I continued to have surgeries until I was 18, after which I chose not to have any more surgeries, as I was happy with how I looked and willing to just *LIVE* a life with the scars from the surgeries.
