Dissociative Idenity Disorder

Well, I have debated on just what to write about MPD/DID. I've decided to share a very small part of myself on this page. I still fear sharing, I fear being hurt anymore.

I am a person who was diagnoised with DID nearly 12 years ago. I have many alters, though only a handful actually have presented or spoken. They present themselves in two basic groups. We are what is known as a "Co-concious" host/alters. This means that I am aware of them and they of each other and what is going on. I believe that by all agreeing to this, it has helped to limit or stop the need for "switching" from all of the alters present. This may not be the case for others, but for our "family" group, it has worked for a number of years.

There has been no "switching" for nearly 9 years. Essentially, it appears that they are dormant for a lack of knowing how else to put it. There has been very little 'activity' inside for the last 9 years.... I truly don't know if they will ever present themselves again or not. Perhaps and perhaps not. It's possible that I may never have the "switching" again...I just don't know.

The_Collective....a group of 10 who pretty much interact with one another...
The members of The_Collective are: babi, Jenna, Mikey, B.J., Kira, Beautiful One, "the gaurdian", butterfly, WildChild, and "The Old Woman of the Soul". If they feel like telling more about themselves...then perhaps new pages will be created where they can tell about themselves. I don't know at this point whether they will choose to do so.

The_Group....many who do not speak so much, nor present themselves "to the front". They have one "spokesperson" who speaks for the group when they deem it necessary

The_Collective and The_Group decided together along with our counselor and psychiatrist and me, that we did not think that integration was appropriate for us. It's a personal decision for each person with DID/MPD, and you need to make the decision that is right for you.

I'm just getting started on my DID/MPD page....please be patient as i find links and make sure they work......keep coming back.....there'll be more here soon

  • An excellent site to see For The Little One's Inside

  • A site well worth reading.... DID/MPD Information Deals with many issues that the DID person deals with.

  • This site Shattered Selves deals with defining DID/MPD from the side of someone who lives each day as a "multiple". Well worth reading.

  • A Foundation that is a leader in Traumatic Stress education and Advocay Sidran Foundation is a nationally-focused nonprofit organization devoted to helping people who have experienced traumatic life events.
