When Erica Parkhurst flees New York City in the wake of a marital split and accidentally discovers the quaint town of Spirit Lake, she is intrigued by the ghost stories surrounding the local inn and the mist-shrouded lake nearby. Then in an eerie nighttime encounter on the dock, she meets the mysterious Joe Lakota. Soon Erica finds herself embroiled in a murder case when a skeleton washes up on the shore and Joe becomes the prime suspect. Can she risk falling in love with a man who may be a murderer? And what other secrets are hidden beneath the glassy surface of Spirit Lake?
It's mid October and now that her divorce is final, Erica Parkhurst is free to return to Spirit Lake and Joe Lakota, the man she left behind. Yet she is riddled with doubts and fears. Can they rekindle their romance of the summer? And can she put aside memories of her terrifying experience at the hands of a cold blooded killer? A frantic phone call from the inn's owner settles the matter and soon Erica is again headed for the hills of Western Pennsylvania, this time with her best friend, Paula Bascilla, in tow. "This place is alive with spirit activity," Paula, a self professed psychic, proclaims the minute she enters the inn. Soon those spirits make themselves known as an evil undercurrent plagues the inn's occupants. When one of the guests is found dead in the lake and more of Joe's secret past is revealed, Erica is thrown into a whirlwind of turmoil. Can their love survive yet another betrayal? Should it?
| Coffee Time Romance Reviews Spirit Lake
The Spirit Lake Inn has secrets that are not revealed yet, but the mystery of the fate of Chenoa Black kept me intrigued. The ghostly visits were well written and the inn itself a haven for the troubled Erica. The relationship between Joe and Erica moves very quickly, but logically and I really liked Mingo the wolf dog. What really happened to Chenoa was a genuine surprise and the ending is a satisfying one. Maura for Coffee Time Romance

|i Night Owl Romance Reviews.....
I found this to be a wonderful mystery wrapped around quite a bit of deceit and betrayal of many of the characters throughout the story. I was thoroughly entertained from the first page.... Ms. Guy penned quite an intriguing storyline and I'm thrilled to find out this will be the first in a series of other stories wrapped around Spirit Lake. I highly recommend this story to other readers... Diana Coyle, Night Owl Romance
