The Feathered Onion -

Creation of Life in the Universe

About the author...
Clive Trotman is a science writer living in Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand.  He has a broad interest in science reflecting an equally broad experience that has encompassed electronics, satellites and space research, the environment, biology, biochemistry and legal arbitration in the intellectual property and technical sphere.
He is a professor at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Clive Trotman's ideas are founded firmly in mainstream science.  He considers life to have evolved naturally over a very long period of time - in fact longer than the Earth has existed, which is the theme of
The Feathered Onion - Creation of Life in the Universe.

Clive Trotman is a qualified scientist with degrees in biological technology, a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, and was recently made a Doctor of Science by Brunel University, London.  He is a Chartered Biologist and has for many years been a Fellow of the Institute of Biology, London, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry, and a Fellow of the Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand.  He lectures on biochemistry, and also on the science-law interface, at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.

His publications in the research sphere number over 140, mostly on proteins and evolution (generally co-authored with collaborators and students, in the scientific tradition, ranging from book chapters to extremely short summaries of conference talks).

Clive Trotman has a special love for the explanation of science and technology in a non-specialist forum, has written about 50 general magazine articles, and is sometimes available to speak on request.  If desperate to know more, you could consult his company website
