Tigger's Treats

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

2 1/4 c. flour        2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon         1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp  baking soda      3/4 c. softened butter (or marg.)
1 c. sugar           1 egg
1/4 c. molasses           Extra sugar for rolling

    Combine flour, soda, and spices - set aside. Cream butter & sugar - add egg & molasses, beat well. Stir in flour mixture. Shape into 1 1/2" balls, roll in sugar and place 2 1/2" apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 min or til done. (light brown/puffed - don't overbake, they're supposed to be chewy) Cool on sheets 2 min. Transfer to racks & cool completely...great with hot spiced cider!
