Jane
Austen was considered to be one of English literature's greatest
novelist of all times. She wrote about simple day to day events that
happened to her life as well as all around her. She never failed to entertain
her readers with her wit and humor. Born on December 16, 1775, seventh
child of the rector of Steventon in Hampshire, she wrote stories
that transcends through time and race. Her novels made us laughed and cried,
even though it had happened hundred of years ago. Her spontaniety
makes us want to read more and more of her novels until we come to the
end and wished she had written more stories. But sadly, everything
has to come to an end, she died on July 18, 1817 and was buried in Winchester
Cathedral.
I don't
know when I began to love Jane Austen. But as Fitzwilliam Darcy said on
his falling in love with Lizzy Bennet, "I cannot fix on the hour, or the
spot, or the look, or the words which laid foundation. It is too
long ago. I was in the middle before I knew I had begun." :-) And, I must
confess, I did feel that way too. :-) I don't mind being lost in all her
novels once in awhile. The past is so nice to discover and through
her works, we are all carried back in time where decorum is deemed to be
important and where chilvarly burns passionately alive.
Here
are some of Jane Austen's works. You shall see my favorite passages from
the said novels and photos from the film adaptations of her works that
I was able to watch, thanks to my dear friend Pam, who unselfishly shared
with me all these.:-)
