Secret Wars, Issues no. 8= Spider-Man obtained alien costume, "symbiote" Amazing Spider-Man #258= Spidey learns his costume is a living alien symbiote and seperates himself from it with a sonic blaster created by Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic Web of Spider-Man #1= the symbiote reattaches itself to Spidey, who thinks it is killed when the large bell rings in a bell tower he was in after a battle. Web of Spider-Man #18= Eddie Brock pushes Peter Parker in front of a moving subway train without activating his spider-sense. Amazing Spider-Man Annual #26, Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #12, Web of Spider-Man Annual #28= Solo tale of Eddie Brock when he first came into contact with the symbiote. Amazing Spider-Man #298= One page appearance of Venom. Amazing Spider-man #299= Venom confronts Mary Jane Watson-Parker in this first appearance. Amazing Spider-Man # 330+331= Venom fakes suicide at the Vault by having the symbiote coat him with a layer of synthetic skin, then he escapes from the morgue. Amazing Spider-Man #332= Saves a baby in a park while battling Spider-Man. Amazing Spider-Man #333= A plague inducing villain named Styx renders the Symbiote comatose. Amazing Spider-Man # 344= Brief information concerning Venom's return after the symbiote is thought dead. Amazing Spider-Man # 345= The symbiote reattaches itself to Brock while in prison, leaving behind its spawn which later becomes Carnage! Amazing Spider-Man #346= Venom traps Spidey in a cryogenics chamber. Amazing Spider-Man # 347= Venom transports Spidey to a deserted island to kill him, but Spidey during a explosion fakes his death convincing Venom that his vendetta is over. Amazing Spider-Man #361-363= Informed of the existence of Carnage by Spider-Man and the Human Torch he returns to New York with Spider-Man to end his killing spree, but after doing so Venom is captured by Spider-Man with the help of the Fantastic Four.
