Driven

Onward I march to excess
Seeking a sweet release
Through word I seek to express
Those things that give me peace

From vapor doth coalesce
A feeling of caprice
Should I find it to regress
With its silver valise

I shall openly confess
My senses I will fleece
I aim to feel no distress
At the end of my lease

To cause no civil redress
In pursuit of release
Passions not to repress
Pleasures not to decrease

On this sphere I will recess
Until I do decease
As swift bird I will egress
To glide on winds sweet peace

Held in dream’s dear holiness
That the morn will surcease
Waking light brings no distress
Felicity increase

In what day brings I obsess
In every tiny piece
I bridge the spiritless
And cross a mighty crease

I am driven fetterless
To prolong lovely peace
Not totally masterless
My master is my lease

Birth through life this earth doth bless
We each got one apiece
Focus on the limitless
Sure to fulfill your lease

There’s nothing that can suppress
A love for life and lease
Alone or penniless
Can’t take away this peace
