The Naked Gun Homepage!

On this page I will compile a list of the scenes that were cut from the movies. If you know of any that you do not see here, please let me know by sending me an email at mlpaul@comcast.net.

When The Naked Gun 33 1/3 is shown on ABC they have an added bonus while running the credits! They show out-takes of the actors messing up their lines in scenes!

In Naked Gun 22.5, on the CBS version there is a continuation of the scene in which Frank accidently bumps into the cement truck and the truck starts dumping it's contents in another car. After Frank tells Ed "No not right now, we've gotwork to do" we see a new scene of Frank, Ed, and Nordberg walking out of the station and doing this pass the Mayor looking sadfully at her now hardened cement covered car along with a cement worker trying to break it off.

Another new scene was a continuation of Frank getting in the Police tank right when he says "Just keep him(Hector Savage)busy" and shuts the lid he starts looking at the contolls trying to decide which ones to use and which ones not to use.

Another new scene in 2.5 was when Frank goes to Jane's apartment with the flowers(which are now stems). They change the scene completely at this point. Frank starts walking around her place until he comes to a room with a window open and a lot of wind starts coming in. It is established that Jane lives near a railway station. At one point a mailbag flies in the room into Frank's arms. Right after that, Jane then says "I'm making a Protein Shake".

For part 3 of the series, the ABC version had a scene of Frank waking up in a sweat after the shoot-out dream is re-done with extended dialogue between him and Jane. The next new scene deals with Frank at the fertility clinic in which he tries to hide once again form Tanya Peters. This new scene involves him hiding under an empty medical cart and covering himself up with a sheet. A doctor spots the now occupied cart and sighs knowing that he'll need to attend to yet another patient. He wheels the cart into a room, the camera pans up and we see a sign that says "Penial Emplants".

Another scene I from 33.3 is the scene in which Frank describes the days in which he and Rocco tried escaping. A new scene(which I believed may have been in one preview for the film)was shown with Frank digging up into a football field. He looks around and not seeing a football player heading straight towards him, winds up knocking the player over and costing the team a loss.

A re-shot scene was the scene in which Rocco shows Frank his plan for destorying the Oscars. After the blast Frank takes off his binoculars and instead of them beeing just cracked, black liquid is pouring out of them.

Another new scene is a continuation of the scene at the Oscars when Elliot Gould says "Boy! This is going to be dynamite!" Frank then thinks aloud in his mind "Hmmm dynamite" we then see a replay of the scene of Rocco showing the explosion to Frank.

There was a scene that was in the TV version that I have on tape where Frank and Nordberg discuss what's been happening on the soap opera that Frank is watching when Nordberg and Ed come by to ask for his assistance in Naked Gun 33.3.

The scene with Nordberg's wife at the hospital is expanded to include to more dialogue and a different ending: as the group leaves the room Frank flips a couple switches on the wall, which he thinks are for the lights, not knowing that he has shut down Nordberg's life support system. As they walk down the hall after leaving the room, hospital staff rush by headed for Nordberg's room. Without looking where they are headed Frank comforts Wilma by saying, "just be glad you're not that guy's wife".

Drebin's "interview" with the dock worker is extended. The "would this help" (and giving $20) joke/interplay goes on much longer and it becomes evident that Drebin is familar with the worker's family.

As in the theatrical version, when Drebin returns to the hospital to check on Nordberg and sees that the guard is gone, he tells a nurse to call the police. Here we get to see the nurse calling the police and trying to use the police emergency codes.

Drebin's walking monologue (ending with "And where the Hell was I?") has many new scenes, such as Drebin going into a public shower, and extra dialogue to fill the time.

Drebin's break-in at Ludwig's apartment contains new scenes including trouble with a bear-skin rug and difficulty opening the window.

When the mayor chastises Drebin for breaking into Ludwig's apartment, there are different camera angles.

A new scene of Ludwig back at his trashed apartment (after the fire) vowing revenge.

The fight at the hot dog factory has a longer fist fight scene.

At the Queen's banquet, there are several changes including: discussions of Al and the hat he's wearing, new dialogue and cake footage, new speech introductions.

In the theatrical version, after Frank is fired we see him back at Police Squad cleaning out his desk. In this version, we also see Al crying (lots of water), new dialogue, Drebin trashing his desk which turns out to really be Al's.

The baseball game has a few modifications: originally we saw the Queen passing food from a vender, now we see her also passing the money to pay for it; during the montage of baseball's funniest moments, there is a new shot of a family having a picnic in the outfield; and during a conference on the pitcher's mound, they discuss financial matters and not baseball.

The final confrontation with Ludwig in the upper decks is also extended. First, Ludwig shoots at a bunch of cops. Then Drebin arrives. Ludwig shoots him but the catcher's chest protector that he's still wearing stops the bullet. The chest protector then deflates like a balloon. At this point it rejoins the theatrical version where we can see that Drebin's chest protector is shrunken. Originally, there was no explanation for this.

when Frank and jane and dr. meinheimer are in the building that blew up at the beginning, and they walk through the research area where he drops his hat, the scene ends in the movie version with jane walking away with the other guy, and frank standing there. in the CBS version, green ooze explodes from the machine, jane asks where frank's hat is, and then frank runs out while the green ooze poors out the door, while noticing a sign about how long the research area went without problems.

In the bar scene, Ed and Frank go down a list of whic girls Ed liked that frank went out with.

When frank falls throught the glass and is captured by the polution group, the bad guy boss (who's name escapes me right now, jane's date) goes through a detailed explanation of how he'll be tortured before being killed.

At the scene at the dinner at the end, when Nordberg plays the guitar and the old lady tosses him the keys, there is a scene with him walking off and tossing the keys to President Bush who considers them.

At the beginning at the presedential dinner before the lobster scene, there are 2 scenes added. on involves frank yanking a cuban cigar out of the cuban embassador's mouth and yelling at him about supporting cubans, and one involves him mistaking Winnie Mandela for someone else.

There are added scenes in the sex scene between frank and jane (like a gas pump put into a car's gas entrance).

Before frank goes to the mansion for dinner, there is an added scene before he arrives and greets the mayor (how many animals escaped...?). the bad guy (forgot his name) handing a huge check to some thug, and then cashing it for him right there.

In the ABC version of "33 1/3", the scene where Rocco, "Ma", and Tanya start getting the impression that Frank is really a cop and stick the gun to his face, Frank starts throwing out even more excuses after "The underwear".

In the scene where Jane finds Frank kissing Tanya there is extended dialogue after Ma says "I say we plug her now". Rocco starts throwing out more ways of killing Jane like "Burn at the stake?" "Hit and run?", and then it goes back to Frank saying they should just take her as a hostage.

After this scene there is a new scene of Frank in a bedroom with Jane, who's all tied up. She throws her ring at Frank who then picks it up and starts getting teary-eyed. While he's looking at the ring, Jane starts hopping around trying to free herself. She winds up crashing into a lamp a bedpost, and other stuff, finally falling onto the floor.

When Rocco and the gang show Frank their plan there is new dialogue when Frank gets the binoculars. After "Hey aren't out awfully far?" "No!" and Ma turns them around Frank then says "Hey, aren't we out awfully close?" When Papshmir's plane blows up there is a new shot of two old people walking in a Los Angeles alley. The man looks up and says "Hollywood!" in a disgustful way. Then the shot goes back to Frank and Jane on the catwalk reconciling and finally back to the original scene of them gliding back on the stage by a rope.

From Naked Gun 2.5 - One scene is where Hector Savage says "Something fun! A Porsche!". Instead of immediately saying "I want a ticket...." Ed speaks up and says "Can't do that Savage!" and throws out different types of cars they could give him then ending up with "We're calling your bluff!".

From Naked Gun 2.5 - The next new scene involves how Frank, dressed as a mariachi, got the cup of money. When Frank gets beat up by the football players, there is a new scene of Ed and Nordberg in their regular outfits along with Dr. Meinheimer, coming to his aid saying "Hey! We're police officers! Hold it!" then they leave. Frank is still dazed. Ed says "Hang on, I'll get you some water!" Meanwhile Meinheimer's just staring at Frank to see if he's ok. Frank starts to see a blurry image of Meinheimer and thinks it's Earl Hacker(the fake Dr.) and starts beating up on him again. The football guys come back, see this, and start beating up Frank again(also if you listen closely they've incorporated the previous sound footage "Hey! Let's get him! Beat up an old guy will ya!" for the new scene). Ed comes back with a glass of water which he hands to Frank. He tells him to look out for Hapsburg and heads for the stage with Dr. Meinheimer. Frank then takes the glass to his lips and winds up fainting in the process. Thus explains how the next time we see Frank, he's holding an empty cup with money. He spilled the water when he fainted.

From Naked Gun 2.5 - Next new scene involves Frank trying to steal Hapsburg's gun away from him while in the "bomb room" followed by "Any last requests?" "Yes, can I have the gun?" which is then why Hapsburg says "Oh no. I'm going to fall for that one again!"

From Naked Gun 2.5 - The next new scene involves Frank and Jane trying to disarm the bomb. Jane, instead of flipping in the manual right to "How to disarm bomb" she starts out with introductions "So You've decided to buy a bomb...." and other captions with Frank telling her to just hurry up and find the right page.

When Rocco's "Ma" talks to him on the prison phone, instead of immediately bringing Papshmir into the picture after apologizing to Rocco after almost giving him "guy cramps", she tells him that Tanya's fine and goes on to remind him about previous bombings he was able to get away with. Once Papshmir's introduced we continue through the scene except when he sees Rocco's "price range" and then we hear some new dialogue of Papshmir warning Rocco to be extra careful and not fail.

To cover up for the scene where frank absently grabs a lady's "melon", we see a newer shot of Frank trying to get into other lanes that open up in the supermarket with very minimal success.

After Frank goes into his "cold steel pressed against my thigh" speech after Ed asking him to go track down Tanya Peters, we see a new scene of Frank saying "I'll do it" and Ed thanking him ending up with Frank saying "Now, if you'll excuse me I have to take out the laundry now" followed by a transition of him in his squad car saying "After I finished the laundry, I headed out to try and track down Tanya". Then we're back to the regular film.

To cover up for some of the vulgarity in the clinic, there are different(less risque) shots of Frank handing his cups to the Doctor after watching "Major Hooters", prohibiting us from seeing just how many he filled up. There is also a new shot of the sexy doctor. We just see her boots then we see her entering Frank's exam room. Tanya's also there. The sexy Doctor gives a solemn "I know what to do" nod to Tanya who then smiles sort of evilly, knowing exactly what's going to go on.

There's new dialogue before the "You might end up dead" line in which Ed and Nordberg try to con Frank into going undercover at Statesville prison. Nordberg kind of overdoes it and Ed(like he did with the puzzle) has Nordberg leave the scene by pulling out a football and saying "Nordberg, go long!" and throws it out of the scene to him. My guess is that this was an in-joke on O.J. Simpson who was a professional football player in the 70's and early 80's.

As Frank is led to his prison cell in Statesville, we see new shots of other prisoners in the jail such as a lion and a mime trying to free himself from invisible prison bars.

There's extended dialogue between Frank, Rocco, and Tyrone when Frank introduces him self as "Nick 'The Slasher' McGuirk".

There's an extended scene of how Frank and Rocco hid the dirt by using the prison kitchen and how most of the other prisoners reacted after eating and drinking it.

BTW, a correction to the "Football scene"; Frank actually digs up into the field, directly under the tee holding the football, spots the player, ducks back underground and the player kicks the ball and scores a field goal. Then we're back to the shot of "Ma" waiting in the Los Angeles High School parking lot.

There's a new scene of Frank faking a head injury after mistaking Rocco's mother for an old hag.

There's extended dialogue with the "Rice Cake loader guy" after he says to Jane "I know your type", he goes on to describe the kind of guy Jane married which fits Frank perfectly. "He leaves you for his work and before you know it you're out in the middle of nowhere with some low life who thinks he can make you happy!"

After Rocco says "Let's get some shuteye" after agreeing to take Jane as a hostage, "Ma" says "I'll make your favorite for breakfast tomorrow, possum-fried pancakes!" ending with Rocco looking grossed out and telling Frank/Nick to "tie the dame up".

When "Ma" hands Rocco the fake Oscar passes there's extended dialogue and she tells him all his years at some lowlife school have finally paid off.

After Rocco and Tanya have untied "Ma" and she tells Rocco that nick is really Frank. Directly after he says "I treated him like my brother! The one I didn't kill!" there's a new shot of her saying "Didn't I tell you?! I know people!"

Jane has a slightly extended piece of dialogue dealing with her thoughts on the movie industry after calling out to Frank from the catwalk.

In the prison shower scene, there's an extended shot with Frank giving the "hairy con"(Randall Tex Cobb) a back rub using some lotion before he is asked to pick up the soap. Also we get to see Frank wearing a goofy looking shower cap and singing even more. Of course if you listen closely you'll find his new scene has been overlapped from the original making his singing sort of "crossed".

The full scene of Frank getting "Penile Emplants" goes like this. After the sexy doctor has done her "business" with Frank, we see him being transported to a hospital desk where we see him covered with lipstick, hair completely mussed up, and glasses almost broken. A doctor asks him, "What's your name sir?". Frank can only say "F.....F.....Fr....Fr....Fra....." and then the doctor leaves the scene. We then see Frank trying to intercept a call for Tanya who he thinks might be a bomber giving her secret instructions. Before he can hear anymore, he spots the doctor again, and covers himself with a hospital sheet on a gurney. Then the doctor comes over to the gurney, shakes his head knowing he'll have to attend to him, and wheels him into the "Penile Emplants" room.

My thanks goes to Phillip Smith for help on most of the above scenes.
